Ate Dinner With Dad Last Night

After a damp, cold and dreary day yesterday Kerry and I decided to go to one of the newer restaurants by our house for some comfort food. Mimi’s Cafï has a maximum occupancy of 68 and was just what we had in mind. Their menu actually has a section called "Comforts". Kerry ordered Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies. I ordered the grilled liver and onions with mashed potatoes and
veggies. Their bread basket had samplings of banana nut bread, date nut bread and small dinner rolls. All piping hot and buttery. I looked over to the large copper urn holding a huge arrangement. The hammered copper kept reflecting light and sparkling in the corner of my eye. It was actually a tiny bit annoying and I started to move in my seat so that the reflections wouldn’t be so distracting. I took a closer look. A golden plate on the urn was engraved with the name of the manufacturer. It was the gold plate that was sparkling in my eye.

Here is where the urn was made. It’s pictured right there on their front page. Obviously, the sparkle didn’t bother me anymore. I snapped a picture on my phone. Soon as I figure out how to get it off, I’ll send it too. Dinner was very comforting.

Love to all...

FYI. And, how eerie is this? Liver and Onions was one of Poppy's favorite entrees.

Poppy will be with us in spirit for every occasion...Brennan's birthday party was on that day at Grandmommy and Poppy's house and I like to think he was there watching and taking part in all of the festivities.
