Obituary

POTTER, Harold H. "Bud" 85, passed away on Dec. 31st, 2008 after a long illness. He was under the care of Hospice and died at his home in St. Petersburg with his wife and stepdaughter, Linda and husband, Michael by his side. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Marty), four children and their respective spouses, Gary & Mandy Potter, Bruce & Nita Potter, Dawn & Kerry Lundin, and Linda & Michael Davis, as well as 13 very loving and caring grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was born in Scotia, NY and was very proud of his service in the U.S. Army during WWII; serving as a High Speed Radio Operator with duties in New Guinea, Leyte, Manila, Okinawa, and Tokyo. He later moved to the Washington, DC area and worked as a Senior Systems Accountant for the Navy Department, ultimately retiring in 1979 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Alexandria (VA) Harmonizers Barbershop Chorus for many years before moving to St. Petersburg in 1979. He was also an avid fisherman all his life and enjoyed boating and fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. He is a long-time member of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, FL 33770.
